About me

Narika is a Bay Area organization founded in 1992 to promote women's empowerment by assisting South Asian victims of domestic violence, exploitation and trafficking. Narika uses a culturally sensitive model to provide advocacy, support, information, and referrals to the women while helping them attain basic skills such as English language fluency, financial literacy and job preparedness so they can become self-sufficient and employable.  Here are the highlights of Narika’s accomplishments in 2013

  • 24-hour multilingual helpline
  • Responded to over 1,500 calls on its helpline
  • Assisted nearly 200 families
  • 40 active cases at any given time
  • Case management services
  • Assistance with legal, health, housing, job training, and other services
  • 720 Helpline volunteer hours
  • Two 12-week SEED Program modules
  • Two 1-day Career Development Workshops
  • Representation at 30 community events
  • Participation in 6 panel discussion events

This has been possible with help from generous donors like you!  This is the sixth consecutive year Narika is partnering with ICC to participate in Sevathon.  Help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 for Narika by clicking on Sevathon-2014 and register for the event.  Help a great cause by walking, running, participating in yoga or just being there to support Narika!

If you cannot participate in the event, but would like to help towards Narika's fight against domestic violence, please donate by clicking on 'Donate Now'.

Thank you for supporting Narika, and being a part of Sevathon 2014!  We hope to see you at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale on Jun 22nd!
