In India, there are 210 million children between ages 6 and 14, of which 100 million cannot readat the correct level. Pratham seeks to remedy this problem, using low-cost scalable methods,and by leveraging 65,000 volunteers annually in 21 states to reach millions of children. Every year Pratham tests over 700,000 children across India to measure actual learning -- we work with children, teachers, parents, communities and governments to make sure every child is in school and learning well, through a variety of rural and urban programs.
