About Sanatan Dharma Kendra

Ancient Vedic scriptures tell us that various Samskaras (starting from Conception and ending with last funeral rites) are required to refine and polish the soul of each person.
A soul tempered by all these various Samskaras enables that human body to reach its highest pinnacle. Therefore, it is incumbent upon each parent that they perform these Samskaras for their children.

To alleviate the miseries coming in one’s life and to fulfill his righteous desires, man has continually looked to Vedas for guidance and enlightenment. For e.g., King Dasharatha performed “Putrakameshti Yagna” (fire ceremony specifically prescribed by Vedas to seekers looking for male progeny) to have Shri Rama and more as his sons. This is merely an example. Therefore prayers, (puja) Austerities, (vrata) Fire ceremonies (Homaas, Hawans) and other Samskaras when performed as prescribed by Vedic scriptures help human beings reach their ultimate goal in this human form. This is a declaration of Vedas.

In this context Sanatan Dharma Kendra continues this unbroken Vedic tradition by providing these rites for the community.

Our Goals

  • Promote and practice the ideals of Hinduism and the Hindu religion through worship, education, social service and teaching.
  • Strive for spiritual richness and human excellence through assimilation of values of Hindu scriptures into daily life.
  • Maintain a community center for the purpose of conducting Hindu Religious, social, educational, cultural, literary, and performing arts activities consistent with the primary objective as stated above.

The Temple aims to teach all youngsters the basics of Hinduism through scriptures and stories that highlight the important values of the religion.

The Temple also promotes cultural awareness by organizing cultural programs and shows on a regular basis to give our children and adults many opportunities to have a glimpse of the great culture, and a first-hand experience of how festivals are celebrated across diverse India.
